Abhyodaya Global Village School Visit


Activity Started – 9 October 2014

From one week, we are planning for this activity. We all were very excited, as school was far way from our school, this was very different from our daily routine, and I had an opportunity to help those students and that school. Bhagyashree Ma’am father started this school 2-3 years ago. He had dreamed that the children’s of villagers could be future entrepreneurs. Bhagyashree ma’am was trying to fulfill his father’s dream by
managing the school. She is getting help of some school principle and by her staff members.
I was given responsibility of grade 2. I was very excited and happy because I was given the opportunity to help them. I was going to take new challenges for me. I never say no whenever somebody ask for help or there is chance to help anyone. I planned activities which I was going to do there.
On 9th October morning, we left the school at 8:30 am and after 1 and half hour journey we reached there. They welcomed us by giving flower and after that Bhagyashree introduced us with students then we attended their assembly. After that Bhagyashree ma’am showed as presentation on their school, it was very inspiring for all of us. We went to our respective classes of which were given responsibility. I started with introducing myself and getting comfortable with my class. First,





I started with greetings. I showed them the video of APJ Abdul Kalm, which was very much inspiring for the students.
I taught them new words and made them understood what it mean and when to say.
To fresh up their mind, we taught them football and they learned it very quickly and started playing, as I love playing.



This activity ended and we said bye. I learned some things from this activity.

Introducing football to primary children

           Activity started – 25 march 2014

Today we got to know that we have to teach football to PYP children (from Grade 1 to 5).
First thing we did was planning activity.
Our CAS Coordinator introduced this activity.
Planning: - Rucha suggested that we should volunteer for this activity because there were also some other work going.
First thing we did that was volunteering people who will do this Activity. DP 1 and DP 2.
Second thing we did that was dividing groups between children. So that it would be easy to handle them.
   First group - Grade 1 to 2
   Second group – Grade 3 to 4
   Third group – Grade 5
After that we all DP boys suggested that we should teach them some new skills of football like passing, dribbling and dribbling with passing and control.
Third thing: - we did that was deciding the children that what they can do to play football.



Then we all suggested that we should teach what we know perfectly so everyone told their quality as I and Himanshu said that we will do the passing part. But first we four student went to PYP blog and we took the children to the art room to keep their bags and then on ground. Then we distributed the children group wise. Then we started training. First thing we taught that was passing the ball. I taught that it would be very difficult job for them because they are a very small kid that’s why I asked the children that will you be able to do the passing they said that it is very difficult. So I said that we will play another game they said yes very loudly and they became so happy as if they won the world cup. I suggested them that we will play volley ball they said yes. We will play a match. But I said no first you all tell me what all things we should know before playing volley ball. They said that we have to serve a ball from outside to the other part of the court. Then second thing they said that smashing the ball then I said that these thing are important but do you know that volley ball is the 17th fastest game in the world.

Environmental Week

First we all planned this activity and then we decided that to give responsibilities to everyone. This activity was an issue about the importance of globalization




Day 1: topic was about environment and pollution. The responsibility of managing this assembly was given to me and my classmate Shradha Wakode. I was very happy when everyone said that day 1 assembly will do me and Shradha I was very excited about the assembly because I show my talent and skills in front of everyone


Day 2: Topic was effect of climate change and natural disaster. The responsibility of managing this assembly was given to my friend Shafqat and Jaidev. They were excited about this assembly because they have to show their skills and talent in front of everyone. Then my friends gave the opportunity to say the thought written by great mahatma Gandhi. I showed my best and told everyone in very peace and kind manner.



Day 3: Topic was how to control and minimize global warming and other harmful factors. The responsibility of managing this assembly was given to my classmates Himanshu and Rucha. They gave me a thought to present in front of everyone. As IB student I should gave the thought and make aware the student from that. My Hobby is reading Books and Newspaper in that I saw a wonderful thought and spoke in fort of everyone about environment day and made people aware of global warming.  This activity increased my awareness that not to cut trees and leaf of plant and also make the world live in an area for growth.





Day 4: The event was Tree plantation and we called it green day. Our CAS coordinator gives a responsibilities. I was given a responsibility to do Tree plantation by grade 3 and 4. Everyone were told to gathered at the amphitheater with their saplings, ready to help to the environment. I planted a plant of lilium, I got very much enjoyed by sapling the plants.




Pachmahri Tracking Camp

My dream was to join an Adventure club, but one day came that friend offered me to join an adventure club. When I heard this news, I said yes to my friend and that time went to my home to ask permission about to join an adventure club. When my mom said yes to me I was very much happy and after that I asked them that in which places you have your campsite then they told me that they have four campsites they are Pachmahri, Manali, Darjeeling and Kouandali. After that, they explained me how to take adventure activities and camp. Then one idea came in my mind that till now our school didn't took for picnic so I thought that should I introduce my Tracking camp for my friends. First, I asked to my classmates that are you ready for tracking camp they said yes we ready to come anytime. After that, I thought we should go for Pachmahri because it is an adventure place for tracking activities so I decided, as we didn't went to any place for picnic in these year. Then I thought that in IB curriculum we have CAS in which we have to complete 150 hours in 2 years so my classmates suggested that if we will go for tracking camp then in our CAS activity we would get 8 hours for my action activity. As it was, my first tracking camp to take so I was more excited to go. So I explained these plain to my CAS coordinator she also got agreed for my plain and she said that it is an very wonderful idea the  she said that first you tell this plan to you coordinator so I explained these to my coordinator also after hearing this idea he also got happy and said what a nice idea. After that sir said me wait I will ask to director sir for these I was very excited that we should go their rock it. After when director sir called me I was very much nervous, that he should not say anything to me for this plan. My temperature was becoming and I was getting afraid of him, but finally thought I will go if anything will happen I handle the situation. However, he asked that student are ready to come I said yes but I was not knowing that student will be ready or not. However, I said yes to director sir as I was very much excited to go there, then he said that first you ask to your friends and classmates then you come to me. As I knew that student would be ready to come then also I asked to my friends, as I know the strength of our school is very less. Everyone has agreed for going to Pachmahri Tracking. Then I have planned with my escorts that what activities we should give to them from morning to evening, as we knew that strength is very less than also. We should give one adventure activity that will make them happy that was rock climbing and another option was their if some of the students were not able to climb then we have given is valley 
crossing. After that, I said on 24th morning we will move to Pachmahri and their we will plain what we should do. Pachmahri was not new for me because earlier also I have came here. Then also, I was more excited as I was going with my classmates and they were very excited for going to Pachmahri. We all went for shopping one day earlier and after that, I went to home and did packing for my trip. However, when I went to asleep I was not able to sleep only as I was excited that when we will go. The day came when we were going to Pachmahri was on 24th early in the morning I went to my travels office and their I picked the bus by which we were going to Pachmahri. After that, I took that bus brought it at my home and did pooja off that bus and then I took the escorts, which were waiting on Radisson square, and then we all went to school. After that, we all started moving to Pachmahri. It was long-distance run from Nagpur to Pachmahri was near about 600 km away from Nagpur almost 6 hours it took to reach the Pachmahri. Finally, we started our journey with melody songs. During journey played few games to take our mind off danger off the dangerous mountain when we were driving through. Well we reached there at 7 pm, after that we checked in. Our hotel’s name was Paradise. Then I divided students and my roommates were Pranav, Jaidev, Shafqat and Advit. Then I went for the arrangement of campfire their we kept the sound system that students should enjoy the campfire. After that, we had a dinner then we went to bed early, as we had to wake up early.
 On 25th Morning, we woke up and got ready for the activity to begin from Pachmahri caves which is very famous in Pachmahri named as Pandav Gufa which were made by Pandav brothers of Mahabharata. Here we DP students become the leaders for juniors. We divided them in different groups and leaded them throughout the trip. Our escorts guided us further. My group members were Pranit, Sanad, Ayush and Harsh. It was a difficult task to manage these teenagers and climb the mountain but I did it as I had the potential. These caves are based on mountains and you should have a good will power and physical strength to climb this mountain. This was new challenge I undertook. I was working collaboratively with my group while climbing this mountain.

The next destination was B-fall; it is a hill near the town. We got there by jeep and we traveled further distance by foot which was very difficult to get down and climb. My friend Ragini and Urja were got tired during this process as it was very down from the place where we were but I encouraged her to continue. She was motivated and decided to continue and in between, I got my business teacher as she was also got tired and was asking how down it is but to encourage her I said just you have reached only she got and decided to continue. At last, we reached there and enjoyed the fall. I climbed the place from where the water comes. I enjoyed a lot and the place that was only the B-fall.
Next destination was sunset point which was near to the Dhupgarh; it is the highest point of Satpura Range. It has the famous points which are sunset and sunrise point. Dhupgarh is 1350 meters high. When we reached there the whole scenery was just awesome, it is very beautiful place. If I call it Heaven on earth, I would not be wrong.

On 26th Morning, we went to Bada Mahadev which is very famous for Shiv ling.  After that, we went to do few activities. I was given to choices to them either Rock climbing or Valley Crossing. For Demo, I did both the Activities. Valley Crossing and Rocking climbing was not new for me than also I was getting difficult to climb that rock because it was not having proper shape and place to hold. Valley Crossing was very easy task for me and today was the last day of our trip. So we came back to hotel as early as possible as our check out time was 1 pm so we reached the hotel at 11:30 am and after that I slept for 30min and then I went for launch and that we boarded the bus at 2 pm. After that, we started journey by listening songs and playing games and some of my friends slept as they were tired by climbing and doing activities. We reached Nagpur at 10:30 pm. This was a very amazing adventure trip which I will never forget in my whole life as my friends Jaidev and Shafqat helped me a lot in doing work and planning for Pachmarhi Tracking Camp I am very much happy that I have got me a friends like Shafqat and Jaidev. They are just a brothers for me, whenever they will need help that time I will support them. Thank you for supporting and listening to me.

candle making

Candle Making

Activity started – 1st august 2013

 Approximate time – 8 hours


        Today was the first day of candle making activity. This activity was new for me.                     This activity came under the creativity section of the programme.
We aim to make around 100 candles and sell them to raise fund for the underprivileged children. Fund raising however would come under the service part of CAS.
Making candle is fairly easy task. I realised that making candle involves 6 basic steps:
1.      Grease the mould.
2.      Melt the wax.
3.      Add colour.  
4.      Put a wick in the mould.
5.      Pour the molten wax in the mould and let it cool.
6.      Remove the candle from the mould once solid.

Performing the activity actually isn’t that easy. Firstly the wax is melted in a double boiler. It is a special apparatus used to melt delicate substances and sometimes it is difficult to handle at a time. When I was making candle that time i thought that making candle is not very easy it requires a lot of patience and precision in you. Although that day I made only 3 candles and I was much more confident about making candles.




I knew that there would   be a candle making session today so I had planned that I would make at least 10 more candles today and that they would be different from the ones I had made yesterday. For that I consulted with my activity supervisor Mrs. Deepshri ma’am who suggested us how to make a gel candle, which requires more techniques. But when she told us that it looks more beautiful when we keep it in a glass mould and decorate it with shells it really looks very beautiful. When we are making gel candles you should be punctual while resulting in a wax because there should not come a single bubble while making you should be forth while making.

Today I completed my 8 hours of this activity and now I m feeling really very happy and I learned so much that I was erred to consider candle making a trivial task.

I am kaustubh murmare an ib student at D.Y.PATIL INTERNATIONAL SCHOOL and  I will be writting about all my cas activities and experience in this blog . I can make my self a good and successful human being. Especially i will focus do to most of the cas activies this year and enjoy.
